DELL DIMENSION 8400 CHIPSET DRIVER
Refurbished by mrsjaguar Apr 03, decent board as long as capacitors are not bad third dimension board in 2 years. Apparently has a heat problem, or was built with medium quality capacitors. These older boards are notorious for bad capacitors, please make sure Dell Dimension 8400 Chipset you get one that you check for swollen caps if it won't boot after install, that is probably the problem.
If the board is in solid shape, it is reliable and fast. It looks just like previous series Dimension towers, down to the downward angled USB ports in the front panel. The only outward signs that this is a new Dimension aside Dell Dimension 8400 Chipset the understated Dell Dimension 8400 Chipset badge is the lack of a floppy drive a good thing and the cooling port on the front, which looks like it belongs on a Saab Turbo.
The cooling port is needed, as the Dell version of the 3. Enable power management in the system to minimize carbon footprint. Power to the People! Currently has a Pentium 4 3.
I verified that I have a Socket MoBo, so everything I've read seems to point that it should be compatible and I'll try installing Win7 bit. Lots Dell Dimension 8400 Chipset good info in this thread. I bought a Dimension new in with the Pentium 4 3. The only real concern I have left has to do with the PSU.
I believe am not sure you have a 20 pin connector on your PSU, while your motherboard will want a 24 pin. You can use a 20 pin and it will work I have been told but you may want to upgrade your PSU sometime soon. Looks to be interesting.
Jul Dell Dimension 8400 Chipset,3: Assume they are all compatible with X chipset.Ghz processor in one of my Dimension with a x chipset, without issue. systems do not support dual core [Pentium D] or Core 2 Duo top of the processor chip, add the Arctic Silver, and reseat the heatsink???
