Screen is nicer than the T60p, but nothing huge. Brightness seems to be about the same.
I do like the higher resolution though. W is quite a bit heavier. I haven't put them both on a scale but I'm guessing it's around a pound difference both units do have 9 cell batteries so that isn't a differing factor.
About the optical drive -- Lenovo went back Lenovo ThinkPad W500 Ricoh Card Reader the "Angled" side like on the T4x series. T6x have a flat face on the right side, which is "weird" for IBM. There's a standard SATA data port on it if you wanted to attach it to a PC, but the power plug is not standard, it's very small. Fan is barely running. Fits on the same dock as the T6x series.
